Temp mail not receiving emails? Work through these four causes

You pasted the address, hit register, and nothing arrived. Four causes account for nearly every case, and they are worth checking in this order, because the first is the most common and the cheapest to rule out.

How to fix temp mail not receiving emails

  1. Wait ninety secondsMost verification mail arrives in under thirty seconds, but some senders queue it. Do not request a resend yet: on many platforms each new request invalidates the previous code.
  2. Confirm the address is still aliveCheck the timer on the Home screen. If the address expired, anything sent to it is gone. Tap Extend before starting again.
  3. Check the address for a typoCompare what you pasted against the app. If you typed it by hand, that is almost certainly the problem. Use Copy address instead.
  4. Switch domain and register againIf the site rejected the address as invalid, it is blocking the disposable domain. Tap Domain in Fade, choose a different one, and repeat the signup.
  5. Try a second signup attempt from scratchSome platforms silently drop the first attempt after a rejected address. Start the form again with the new address.

Cause 1: the sender is slow

Most verification email lands in under thirty seconds. Some platforms queue it behind a sending pipeline that backs up at busy times, and two or three minutes is not unusual.

What to do: wait ninety seconds before touching anything. This is genuinely the fix a large share of the time.

What not to do: hammer the resend button. Many services invalidate every previously issued code each time you request a new one, so three requests in a row can leave you in a state where the code that finally arrives is already dead.

Cause 2: the site blocked the domain

This is the big one, and it is invisible from your side. Services check the domain of the address you entered against a public list of known disposable email providers. If it matches, they refuse it at the form and never send anything at all.

The tell is a validation error that makes no sense: "please enter a valid email address" on an address you can see is perfectly well formed. Occasionally it is more honest and says disposable addresses are not accepted.

What to do: tap Domain in Fade, pick a different one, and register again. Blocklists differ from service to service and none of them is complete, so a domain rejected by one site frequently works on the next attempt.

When the block is total

Some services, mostly banks, payment processors and government portals, block disposable email comprehensively and update aggressively. No amount of domain switching gets through. These are also the services where you should be using your real address, so treat a hard block as the answer rather than an obstacle.

Cause 3: the address was mistyped

Disposable addresses are deliberately random, which makes them exactly the kind of string autocorrect wants to help with. A single changed character sends the code into the void, with no error anywhere.

What to do: always tap Copy address and paste. Never read the address off the screen and type it. If you already typed it, compare it character by character against the app, then start over with a paste.

Cause 4: the address expired

A free disposable address is on a timer. If it runs out between pasting it into the form and the mail being sent, the message arrives at an address that no longer exists, and there is nothing left to deliver it to.

What to do: check the timer on Fade's Home screen. If you are starting a signup you expect to be slow, tap Extend +15 min first. If it has already expired, you need a fresh address and a fresh signup attempt: the old one cannot be revived.

If you keep hitting this, that is a signal you want an address that does not expire at all. See reserved addresses.

Still nothing after all four

Two possibilities remain.

The service is sending to a different address than you think. Some signup flows normalise or truncate the email you entered. Restart the flow from a clean state, paste carefully, and read back what the confirmation screen says it sent to.

The service requires phone verification too. Several large platforms send the email only after a phone number has been accepted. If the flow stalls before the phone step, no email is coming, and no email service can fix that.

If mail from other senders arrives fine on the same address, the problem is on the sending side, not with Fade. If nothing at all arrives on a fresh address, tell us at [email protected] and include the domain you were using.

Avoiding it next time

  • Paste, never type. Removes cause 3 completely.
  • Extend before a slow signup. Removes cause 4.
  • Switch domain at the first validation error rather than retrying the same one. Removes most of cause 2.
  • Turn on notifications. Then you are not guessing whether the mail arrived, and you are not tempted to spam the resend button.

Common questions

Why is my temp mail not receiving verification emails?

Usually because the site rejected the disposable domain at the signup form and never sent anything. Switching to a different domain and registering again is the fix. The other common causes are a slow sender, a mistyped address, and an address that expired before the mail was sent.

How long should I wait for a temp mail verification code?

Ninety seconds. Most arrive in under thirty, and waiting the full ninety before requesting a resend avoids the trap where a new request invalidates the code that was already on its way.

Can a website tell I am using a temp mail address?

Often, yes. Services check the domain against public lists of disposable email providers. That is how blocking works. It is a domain check, not anything about you, which is why switching domain usually gets through.
